NELFUND Halts Student Upkeep Loans Over Holidays

NELFUND has announced the suspension of student upkeep loans over the holidays. In a statement signed by Director of Corporate Communications Oseyemi Oluwatuyi, the organization clarified that students will only be entitled to the upkeep loan for the current academic session.

Once the academic year concludes, the upkeep payments will automatically stop, and students transitioning to a new year will no longer receive disbursements. Interested loan applicants must apply at the beginning of each academic session, ensuring that institutional charges for that session are accurately reflected in the NELFUND loan portal.

Institutions are advised to upload academic calendar information promptly to ensure students receive the full upkeep benefit for the entire academic year.
