NELFUND Records 788,000 Student Beneficiaries with N140.88 Billion in Loans Disbursed

The Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) has recorded 788,947 student beneficiaries out of 1.19 million applications, disbursing N140.88 billion for tuition and upkeep expenses. The agency successfully processed 35,773 applications within a week, reflecting a commitment to supporting vocational skills aligned with the government's education and skill development plan.

Akintunde Sawyerr, the Managing Director of NELFUND, highlighted the importance of balancing academic training and technical capacities for Nigeria's next stage of development. This initiative is in line with President Bola Tinubu's vision for inclusive human capital development beyond traditional university education.
