NEMA Confirms Devastating Impact of 2025 Floods in Nigeria

The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has confirmed the devastating impact of the 2025 floods in Nigeria, reporting 231 deaths, 607 injuries, and 114 missing persons across 86 local government areas in 25 states. The floods have displaced thousands, destroyed homes, and affected farmlands, with children, women, men, the elderly, and disabled persons among the most affected.

The affected states, including Lagos, Adamawa, Akwa Ibom, and others, face challenges such as resource shortages, inaccessibility, community resistance, and security risks. NEMA's data underscores the urgent need for support and resources to assist those affected by the widespread flooding.
