NEMA Collaborates with World Bank to Enhance Flood Disaster Management in Nigeria

The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) is partnering with stakeholders, including the World Bank Group, to strengthen emergency coordination and early warning systems to mitigate flood disasters in Nigeria. NEMA's Director-General, Zubaida Umar, emphasized the importance of proactive planning and inter-agency collaboration at the grassroots level during a two-day workshop in Maiduguri, Borno State.

The World Bank representative, Oluwaseun Olowoporoku, highlighted the need for smart and inclusive emergency response systems. The collaboration aims to build resilience and improve disaster management structures nationwide.
