Nigeria's petrol price reduction to N699 per liter by Dangote Refinery has placed the country among the top 10 nations with the cheapest fuel globally in 2026. This price drop has led to a nationwide average price of around N739 per liter, making it more competitive for fill stations, including the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC).

Other countries with low fuel prices include Libya, Iran, Venezuela, Angola, Kuwait, Algeria, Turkmenistan, Egypt, and Kazakhstan. These price controls and subsidies in various countries help maintain affordable fuel rates for citizens, despite global market fluctuations.
