New Petrol Prices Rise at Depots Amid Threat of Tanker Drivers' Strike

New petrol prices have emerged at depots, including Dangote Refinery, as tanker drivers plan a strike. Prices at private depots across Nigeria have increased, with some selling at N840 per litre.

The Dangote Petroleum Refinery is among those with new prices. The upward trend in prices comes amidst fears of fuel scarcity due to threats of a strike by the Nigeria Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG).

NUPENG accuses Dangote Refinery of monopolistic practices, including barring new drivers from joining the union. The strike is scheduled for September 9.
