New PTML Customs Controller Nura Ibrahim Promises Trade Facilitation

Nura Ibrahim has been appointed as the new Controller of the Port Terminal Multiservice Limited (PTML) Command of the Nigeria Customs Service, succeeding Joseph Anani. In a statement made on Tuesday, Ibrahim emphasized his commitment to seamless trade facilitation and adherence to due process.

He stated that integrity would be a non-negotiable priority and that teamwork would be essential for achieving results. Ibrahim acknowledged the importance of inter-agency collaboration for effective port operations and expressed his intention to maintain PTML's status as a model command.

He also highlighted the need for transparency and constructive engagement with stakeholders. Anani, who served for eight months, reported that the command generated N178 billion in revenue during his tenure and initiated the rollout of a unified customs management system.

He underscored the importance of compliance and the cultural shift necessary for success in customs operations.
