New Zealand Launches Visa for Partners of Military Personnel

New Zealand has introduced a special visa pathway known as the Partner of Military Work Visa for foreign nationals whose partners are stationed in the country on military visas. This visa allows eligible applicants to live, work, and study in New Zealand for the full duration of their partner's military posting without needing to secure a job offer prior to arrival.

Holders of this visa can work freely and study for up to three months. The visa permits multiple entries, allowing holders to travel in and out of New Zealand during their stay.

The duration of the visa aligns with that of the partner's military visa, necessitating renewal or reapplication if the military posting is extended or altered. To qualify, applicants must have a partner with a valid visa who supports the application, and they must be living together in a genuine and stable relationship.

The application fee starts at NZD $1,630 (approximately N1,268,681.11), with 80% of applications processed within seven weeks. Dependent children cannot be included in the same application but can apply for separate visas.
