Darren Bazeley, the coach of New Zealand's national football team, stated that the team is continuing its preparations for their World Cup opening match against Iran, scheduled for June 15 in Los Angeles. This comes amid heightened security concerns following recent U.S. airstrikes that killed Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

U.S. President Donald Trump has welcomed Iran's participation in the tournament, asserting that it is not appropriate to jeopardize their safety.

Bazeley emphasized that the team will adjust to any changes as necessary, while New Zealand football boss Andrew Pragnell noted the seriousness of the security situation. Pragnell has not received updates from FIFA regarding any potential changes to the match location, and he does not foresee a shift in the venue for Iran's matches in the United States.
