NEXIM Disburses N420bn to Boost Nigerian Exporters and Jobs

NEXIM has disbursed N420 billion to Nigerian exporters, creating direct jobs, especially for youth and women. Abubakar Abba Bello, Managing Director of NEXIM, revealed this at a forum in Abuja.

The Export Development Fund, supported by a debenture signed with the CBN, has released N137 billion. NEXIM's total assets are around N430 billion, with lending at a 9% interest rate.

Bello highlighted the ban on raw shea exports as a positive move to boost investment in processing plants, given Nigeria's significant global shea production share. The call was made to extend the ban to enhance the agricultural value chain.
