NFF Mourns Passing of Wilfred Ndidi's Father in Tragic Accident

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) is in mourning following the untimely death of Mr. Sundai Ndidi, the father of Super Eagles captain Wilfred Ndidi.

Mr. Ndidi lost his life in a road accident on Tuesday, with doctors confirming his passing after he was rushed to the hospital in Agbor.

Dr. Mohammed Sanusi, the General Secretary of NFF, expressed profound sadness at the news.

Besiktas, the Turkish club where Ndidi currently plays, extended their condolences. Ndidi recently took on the role of Super Eagles captain, succeeding William Troost-Ekong.

During the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco, Ndidi played a pivotal role in Nigeria's third-place finish, scoring the team's first goal and dedicating the celebration to his late father. Former Nigeria captain Kanu Nwankwo also mourned the loss.
