NFF Reduces Remo Stars' Home Ban to Five Matches in NPFL Crowd Trouble Appeal

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has reduced Remo Stars FC's home ban to five matches following an appeal after crowd trouble during a Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) game against Ikorodu City. The disciplinary committee upheld a fine of 2 million naira for inadequate security and an additional 1 million naira penalty for objects thrown onto the field, resulting in injuries and damages.

The club was also fined 2 million naira for compensating the visiting team's injuries and damages. The NFF softened the venue sanction, allowing Remo Stars to play their remaining home fixtures at the Lekan Salami Stadium for the 2025-2026 season.

Despite the reduction, the club still faces challenges in their campaign to avoid relegation, currently sitting in 17th place on the NPFL table with 27 points. Remo Stars will play their upcoming matches against Kun Khalifat, Plateau United, Abia Warriors, Katsina United, and Nasarawa United at the Lekan Salami Stadium.

The club's ban is expected to end by mid-March.
