NFVCB Commends Funke Akindele and Toyin Abraham for Box Office Success

The National Film and Video Censor Board (NFVCB) has lauded renowned Nigerian actresses and filmmakers Funke Akindele and Toyin Abraham for their outstanding box office successes in the Nigerian film industry. Akindele's latest film grossed N2.4 billion at the Nigerian box office, while Abraham's directorial debut achieved a remarkable N1 billion.

NFVCB plans to honor Akindele as the "Box Office Queen" with awards in 2023, 2024, and 2025. Dr.

Shaibu Husseini, the Executive Director of NFVCB, highlighted the significant contributions of both filmmakers to the growth and commercial success of the Nigerian audiovisual industry. Additionally, the Minister of Arts, Culture, and Tourism, Hannatu Musa Musawa, will be present to honor the actresses during the award ceremonies.
