NGO and IOM Collaborate to Combat Irregular Migration

The Heal Foundation, founded by Imelda Nwajei, collaborated with the International Organization for Migration (IOM) to combat irregular migration in Lagos State, Nigeria. Gbolahan Ayediran, a representative of the IOM, conducted a sensitization program in Megida Ifelodun Community, Ayobo, within the Alimosho Local Government Area.

During the program, Ayediran emphasized the risks associated with irregular migration and advised participants on the importance of following legal migration processes. He noted that many individuals seeking to migrate often take unsafe routes.

Mathew Amusan, the chairman of the community development association, expressed gratitude for the initiative and encouraged residents to pursue legal migration avenues. Kolawole Adenoko participated in the program, learning about the legal requirements for migration and the dangers linked to irregular migration.
