NIA Launches Technology Hub Tagged Innovation Lab

The Nigeria Insurers Association (NIA) has unveiled a new technology hub called the NIA Innovation Lab. The lab aims to accelerate digital solutions and reshape the insurance industry in the country.

This initiative comes shortly after the introduction of new guidelines by the National Insurance Commission for the operation of insuretech firms. NIA Chairman, Mr.

Kunle Ahmed, highlighted the importance of embracing digital innovation in the insurance sector and emphasized the lab's role in fostering new solutions. The lab will serve as a hub for developing and testing scalable technology solutions tailored for the Nigerian market.

Mr. Babatunde Fajemirokun, Chairman of the NIA Advisory Committee on Digital Innovation, shared insights from a survey that informed the challenging areas in the industry that the lab aims to address.
