NIAI Graduates 150 Nigerians, Launches Income Pathways

The National Income Activation Initiative (NIAI) graduated 150 Nigerians, offering them income activation opportunities through eight vendor pathways. This event marked the first national graduation and income activation ceremony, which was held virtually and attended by government representatives, private-sector leaders, participating vendors, and beneficiaries.
Mrs Gloria Diri, the Wife of the Bayelsa State Governor, congratulated the graduates and praised the initiative for its focus on economic empowerment. Khuraira Musa, the Lead of NIAI, explained that the initiative aims to bridge the gap between skills acquisition and income generation, emphasizing the philosophy of “Learn, Activate, Earn.” She clarified that qualifying for income activation does not guarantee immediate earnings.
The initiative coordinates participant screening, training, and activation, while vendors provide specialized training and market opportunities. The vendor pathways include sectors such as digital services, agriculture, and beauty.
Registration and training are free, relying on institutional partnerships for sustainability. Dr Nurudeen Zauro, in a keynote address, stressed the importance of linking skills acquisition with measurable economic outcomes.
