Cross River State to Raise Future Sports Stars with Niger Delta Games Support

Cross River State, through its sports commission chairman Lawrence Itanya, is gearing up to raise future sports stars with the backing of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) for the Niger Delta Games. The initiative aims to identify and groom young athletes from the region for global competitions.

Itanya welcomed the support from NDDC and Dunami Icon Limited Project Consult, emphasizing the importance of developing sports talent. The state liaison committee, led by Itanya, will coordinate preparations for the Edo 2026 games, focusing on enhancing sports facilities and grassroots talent discovery in Calabar.
