NDDC Chairman Foresees Future Olympians Emerging from Niger Delta Games

The Chairman of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Chiedu Ebi, expressed optimism about discovering talent through the Niger Delta Games to represent Nigeria in future international sports events like the Olympics. The NDDC, during a strategic retreat, endorsed the idea of the 2nd Niger Delta Games to be hosted by Dunami Icon Limited in Benin, Edo State.

Ebi emphasized the importance of the games as a legacy project for future athletes from the Niger Delta region to excel on the international stage. The event received support from the Edo State government, with the Chairman of the Edo State Sport Commission, Amadin Enabulele, affirming readiness to host the games.

Itiako Ikpokpo of Dunami Icon Limited highlighted the need for organizational improvements to ensure the success of the upcoming games scheduled for February 20-27 across nine states in the Niger Delta region.
