Niger Delta Group Calls for Major Reforms in NNPC for Transparency and Efficiency.

The Niger Delta Ethnic Nationalities Youth Leaders Council (NDENYC) is calling for significant reforms in the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) to enhance transparency and efficiency. The group, in a press briefing in Abuja, criticized the distractions surrounding the leadership of NNPCL, affecting the country's major oil company.

NDENYC emphasized the need for accountability and civic engagement within NNPC to restore public trust and safeguard Nigeria's oil assets. They also condemned recent protests demanding the resignation of the group's Chief Executive Officer, Bashir Ojulari, citing alleged corruption and mismanagement.

Ojulari, who took office in April 2025, has initiated reforms to improve transparency and boost oil production at NNPC.
