Niger State Bureau Clarifies: No Ban on Islamic Preaching, Introduces Certification Process

The Niger State Bureau of Religious Affairs has denied reports of banning Islamic scholars and clerics from preaching. The Bureau clarified that instead of a ban, they are introducing a Da'awah Registration Form and Certification process to promote religious harmony and unity in the state.

Media Aide Amb. Haruna Mustapha Dago emphasized that no arbitrary bans will be imposed unless clear violations of guidelines are established.

Islamic scholars and clerics are required to obtain the form, undergo evaluation, and get certified. The registration period runs from September 4 to September 30, 2025, aiming to ensure that preaching aligns with values of peace and mutual respect.

This initiative is part of ongoing efforts to prevent misunderstandings and curb misleading preaching in Niger State.
