Nigeria Beats England and Argentina To Secure International Allegiance of Two Key Players

Nigeria's Flying Eagles have secured the international allegiance of two key players, Divine Onyemachi and Jonathan Spiff Asuzu, ahead of the FIFA U20 World Cup in Chile. Despite interest from England and Argentina, Onyemachi, who previously played for West Bromwich Albion, chose to represent Nigeria, citing his admiration for Nigerian legend Austin Okocha.

On the other hand, Asuzu, born in Buenos Aires to a Nigerian father and Argentine mother, opted to honor his Nigerian roots. The Flying Eagles coach, Aliyu Zubairu, believes that these two players will bring a spark to the team and help Nigeria in their quest for a U20 World Cup title, which they last won in 2005.

The tournament will run from September 27 to October 19, with Nigeria competing in Group F against Colombia, Saudi Arabia, and Norway. Nigeria's Football Federation is also battling with England over the international future of another young player, Chizaram Ezenw.
