Nigeria, Brazil Launch Direct Air Connectivity Through Bilateral Agreement

Nigeria and Brazil have launched direct air connectivity through a Bilateral Air Service Agreement (BASA) signed by the two nations. The agreement was signed by Nigeria's Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, and Brazil's Minister of Transportation, Silvio Costa Filho.

The BASA aims to establish a framework for direct air connections between the two countries, opening new opportunities for business, trade, tourism, and cultural ties. The agreement was praised by Brazil's President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva and Nigeria's Bola Tinubu, who attended the event.

The deal is expected to strengthen diplomatic collaboration and boost infrastructure development, aviation, and agriculture cooperation between the two largest economies in South America and Africa. Nigerian officials, including the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and the Minister of Finance, accompanied Tinubu's delegation to Brazil.

This move is part of Nigeria's efforts to enhance international trade relations by establishing direct air routes with other countries, such as Jamaica.
