Nigeria Urges De-Escalation in Yemen-Saudi Crisis

The Federal Government of Nigeria has expressed significant concern regarding the ongoing tensions and reported attacks involving the Houthi militia in Yemen and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. In a statement, Nigeria called on all parties to exercise maximum restraint and to immediately de-escalate the situation, urging them to refrain from actions that could exacerbate hostilities or threaten civilian lives and regional peace.

The government emphasized the importance of dialogue, diplomacy, and peaceful means of resolving conflicts, in line with the principles of the United Nations Charter and international law. Nigeria warned that further escalation could undermine regional security and stability.

The government reaffirmed its commitment to the peaceful settlement of disputes and expressed readiness to support constructive efforts aimed at reducing tensions and promoting lasting peace in the region.
