General Christopher Musa Appointed as Nigeria's New Minister of Defence by President Tinubu

General Christopher Musa, a distinguished soldier who served as Chief of Defence Staff from 2023 to 2025, has been nominated by President Bola Tinubu as Nigeria's new Minister of Defence. Musa's appointment comes after the resignation of former Defence Minister Mohammed Badaru Abubakar on health grounds.

Musa, born in Sokoto in 1967, has an extensive military background and has received accolades such as the Colin Powell Award. His nomination is expected to strengthen Nigeria's security architecture.

The announcement was made in a statement by Bayo Onanuga, the Special Adviser on Information Strategy to the President.
