Nigeria Sets African Record in Mixed 4x100m Relay

Nigeria achieved a historic milestone by setting a new African record in the Mixed 4x100m relay, clocking an impressive time of 41.44 seconds during the qualification event for the World Relays in Gaborone, Botswana. The Nigerian quartet comprised Chidera Ezeakor, Maria Thompson, Jame Taiwo, Emmanuel Obi, and Jennif Chukwuka, who delivered a remarkable performance to win the event emphatically.

This victory not only marked Nigeria as the first African record holder in this newly introduced relay category but also significantly bolstered the country's standing in the World Relays qualification rankings, moving them to 12th place. Kenya finished in second place with a strong showing, recording a time of 41.70 seconds.
