Team Nigeria Women’s 4x400m Relay Qualifies for World Relays

On Day 3 of the MTN Championships held in Calabar, Team Nigeria's women's 4x400m relay team qualified for the upcoming World Relays, scheduled to take place in Botswana in May. The team, featuring veteran three-time Olympian Patience Okon George and promising athletes Anita Enaruna, Treasur Okereke, and Jecint Lawrence, clocked a solid time of 3:31.14, which places them 21st in the world rankings.

They finished ahead of Ethiopia, who came in second with a time of 3:38.31, while Mexico placed third with a time of 3:40.50. This marks the second time a Nigerian team has qualified for the World Relays.

The men's 4x400m team narrowly missed qualification, finishing just two seconds short of the required mark. Other notable performances included the junior men's 4x100m relay team winning their race, and individual successes in various sprint events.
