Nigeria May Face U.S. Military Pressure, Expert Warns

In an interview on Arise Television's morning show on Tuesday, Prof. Femi Otubanjo, a research professor at the Institute of International Affairs, expressed concerns that Nigeria could become a military target for the United States, following Iran. He highlighted that countries without nuclear capabilities, such as Nigeria, are particularly vulnerable to military pressure from global powers.

Otubanjo pointed out that the U.S. military system relies on ongoing conflicts to sustain its economic base, having intervened in 58 countries worldwide. He noted that despite previous claims of changing America's global military approach, the military-industrial complex continues to benefit from war.

Otubanjo stressed the importance of Nigeria strengthening its diplomatic strategies to safeguard its national security and avoid being drawn into external conflicts driven by the struggles of global powers.
