Falana Urges Nigeria to Rely on Self-Defense, Not U.S.

He drew parallels with Iran's approach to national sovereignty and security, suggesting that Nigeria should learn from Iran's ongoing conflict with the U.S. Falana referenced a significant incident on Christmas Day 2025, when then-President Trump announced an airstrike in Nigeria targeting terrorists, which coincided with a surge in terrorist activities.

He criticized the Nigerian government for failing to strengthen its security institutions and called for immediate action to equip the armed forces and police. Falana's comments come against the backdrop of rising tensions in the Middle East and U.S. military actions in Iran, highlighting the importance of Nigeria's self-reliance in security matters.
