Nigeria, Japan Partner to Boost STEM and Vocational Education

Nigeria and Japan have signed a five-year memorandum of understanding to strengthen STEM and vocational education in Nigeria. The partnership between UBEC and JICA aims to enhance the learning environment in model schools across Nasarawa, Benue, and the FCT by upgrading facilities like science laboratories, ICT rooms, vocational workshops, and gender-sensitive sanitation facilities.

The project also focuses on equipping students with practical skills aligned with the national curriculum. The initiative reflects Japan's commitment to improving educational outcomes in Nigeria.
