Over 200,000 Teachers Benefit from JICA Grants to Improve Education in Nigeria

The Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC) in Nigeria has entered a new phase of school improvement in collaboration with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), benefiting over 200,000 teachers. Aisha Garba, the UBEC Secretary, highlighted the memorandum of understanding signed with JICA to strengthen basic education in Nigeria.

The project aims to enhance STEM and vocational education, upgrade infrastructure in model schools across Nasarawa, Benue, and the FCT, and ensure access to quality education for all children. This initiative reaffirms the commitment to improving learning environments and providing opportunities for both students and teachers.
