Nigeria Leads Africa in Signing AFRIPERF Charter for Unified Petroleum Regulation

Nigeria led Africa in signing the AFRIPERF Charter during the 31st edition of Oil Week in Accra, Ghana. Engr.

Gbenga Komolafe, the Chief Executive of the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC), played a key role in the ceremony attended by petroleum regulators from 16 African countries. Eight countries, including Nigeria and Ghana, formally signed the Charter, while seven others pledged to join after consultations.

The aim of AFRIPERF is to enhance governance and consistency in the African petroleum sector. Engr.

Komolafe described the signing as a crucial step towards creating a harmonized and sustainable petroleum industry in Africa. The forum has held four meetings to date, with Komolafe serving as the interim chairman.
