Nigeria National League Introduces New Promotion Format for 2025/2026 Season

The Nigeria National League (NNL) has scrapped playoffs and introduced a new promotion format for the 2025/2026 season. Winners of the four conference groups will secure promotion to the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL).

The decision was confirmed during the NNL Annual General Assembly, with the new season set to commence on November 8. The league will adopt an abridged structure with four conferences (A, B, C) and will reward the top teams in each group with promotion.

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) also announced an optional Super Four tournament for promoted clubs.
