Nigeria Railway Corporation Suspends Warri-Itakpe Route After Train Derailment

The Nigeria Railway Corporation (NRC) has halted operations on the Warri-Itakpe route following a train derailment at kilometer 212.8m near Agbor, Delta State. The incident involved two trains and seven coaches, suspected to be caused by track vandalism.

The NRC assures passengers of safety and evacuation, with no injuries recorded. A recovery team is on-site, and operations will resume after a security audit.

This comes just days after the resumption of services on the route, which had been suspended due to technical faults.
