Nigeria Records 17 New Lassa Fever Cases, Death Toll Reaches 185

Nigeria's NCDC reported 17 new confirmed Lassa Fever cases in four states, with a total of 1,012 cases and 185 deaths in 2025. The fatality rate stands at 18.3%, higher than the previous year.

Most cases are concentrated in Edo, Bauchi, Ondo, and Taraba states. While there was a slight decline in transmission, the fatality rate increased.

Health workers are urged to maintain infection prevention protocols to curb further spread.
