Nigeria to Enter Security Pact With US Amid Rising Insecurity

Nigeria is on the verge of entering a security partnership with the United States to address the escalating insecurity, including terror attacks and violence in various parts of the country. Congressman Riley Moore revealed that discussions between Washington and Abuja have progressed significantly, with a focus on counterterrorism cooperation, intelligence sharing, and broader security support.

A recent fact-finding mission led by a delegation of US lawmakers, including Moore, visited Nigeria to gather firsthand information on the security situation, particularly in Benu State. The delegation engaged with displaced residents, survivors of violent attacks, religious leaders, and government officials, signaling a collaborative effort to combat extremist groups operating in Nigeria's northeast.
