Nigeria to Host First-Ever African Boxing Congress, Boosting Sport Development

The Nigerian Boxing Federation, under the leadership of Wale Edun, will host the inaugural African Boxing Congress in Lagos on December 28, 2025. The event will bring together officials from twenty federations across Africa to advance the sport on the continent.

Hon. Omonlei Imadu, Vice President of the NBF, will lead the organizing committee.

This congress signifies a significant step for African boxing, with plans to establish the continent's headquarters in Lagos and enhance Olympic-style boxing development in Nigeria, supporting the country's bid for the 2028 Olympics in Los Angeles.
