Nigeria and UAE to Establish Joint Commission for Partnership

Nigeria and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) are set to establish a Joint Commission on Strategic Partnership aimed at strengthening diplomatic and economic ties. This decision follows a high-level meeting at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, where President Bola Ahmed Tinubu met with the UAE Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, accompanied by Nigeria's Minister of Foreign Affairs.

The proposed Joint Commission is expected to serve as a permanent platform for coordinating bilateral engagements and implementing agreements that advance cooperation in areas of mutual interest, including agriculture, energy, industrialization, and infrastructure. President Tinubu reaffirmed Nigeria's commitment to strengthening relations with the UAE, noting the shared aspirations for economic growth and sustainable development.

He expressed confidence that the Joint Commission would provide a structured mechanism to translate bilateral agreements into tangible outcomes that benefit both nations. This initiative aligns with the Nigerian federal government's broader commitment to enhancing international partnerships to support national economic diversification and improve the livelihoods of Nigerians.
