UK Envoy Praises Tinubu's Reforms at UN Meeting

During a meeting at the Nigeria Mission House in New York, Dame Sarah Macintosh, the United Kingdom’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration for its efforts in addressing Nigeria’s security and economic challenges. The meeting, which included Nigeria’s Permanent Representative to the UN, Ambassador Jimoh Ibrahim, focused on various topics such as border stability, bilateral relations, and cooperation within the United Nations system.

Macintosh and Ibrahim emphasized the importance of ongoing engagement between Nigeria and the UK, particularly on mutual interests and international cooperation. Macintosh congratulated Ibrahim on his recent posting to New York and his election as Chairman of the United Nations Fifth Committee, which oversees administrative and budgetary matters.

Ibrahim expressed gratitude for the British envoy's visit and acknowledged the significance of continued diplomatic engagement between the two nations. The meeting allowed both diplomats to exchange views on developments in Nigeria and prospects for enhancing Nigeria-UK relations.
