Sam Amadi Critiques Oluremi Tinubu's Business Comments

Sam Amadi, a public policy expert and former chairman of the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC), criticized Oluremi Tinubu, the First Lady of Nigeria, for her remarks encouraging Nigerians to engage in small-scale businesses such as selling akara and roasting corn. Amadi argued that her comments reflect political calculation rather than genuine governance.

He stated that while her husband, President Bola Tinubu, is an astute politician, this does not translate into effective governance. Amadi expressed concern that Nigeria will continue to stagnate, with the poor becoming poorer, if such political strategies are employed.

His remarks followed Oluremi Tinubu's comments during an event with the wives of the 36 state governors in Abuja, where she urged Nigerians not to lose hope despite economic challenges and highlighted various government interventions to support vulnerable Nigerians in starting small businesses.
