Nigerian Army Arrests Key Coordinator of Maiduguri Mosque Bombing, Disrupts Terror Network

The Nigerian Army has arrested Shariff Umar, believed to be a key coordinator of the Maiduguri mosque bombing and part of a suicide bomb network. Umar was identified as the ringleader recruiting and preparing suicide bombers for attacks in Maiduguri.

The operation also led to the arrest of 14 suspects linked to suicide bomb activities. The suspects' roles in coordinating logistics, recruitment, and delivery of explosives were uncovered, with Umar's involvement in multiple attacks disclosed.

Additionally, Umar's spouse and stepdaughter were implicated in supporting the terror cell. The arrests have thwarted potential suicide bomb attempts in Damaturu and Maiduguri.
