Bola Tinubu Nominates New Defence Minister, Continuing Military Tradition

Former Chief of Defence Staff, General Musa Christoph, has been nominated by President Bola Tinubu as the new Minister of Defence, succeeding Badaru Moham who resigned for health reasons. The Nigerian Defence Ministry has had a history of ministers with military backgrounds since the inception of democracy in 1999, including prominent figures like Theophilus Yakubu Danjuma, Aliyu Mohammed Gusau, Mansur Muhammad Dan Ali, and Bashir Salihi Magashi.
