Nigerian Govt Empowers Farmers in Niger State with Mechanized Tools to Reduce Input Costs

The Nigerian government has launched an initiative to empower small-scale farmers in Niger State by providing mechanized farming tools and equipment to reduce the high cost of farm inputs. Minister of Agriculture, Aliyu Abdullahi Sabi, stated that this program aligns with President Bola Tinubu's Renewed Hope Agenda and the declaration of a state of emergency on food security in July 2023.

The aim is to support smallholder farmers, boost food production, create jobs, and make food more affordable for Nigerians. Governor Mohammed Bago of Niger State commended the initiative, emphasizing that it would enhance food security and support the state's agricultural development plan.
