Nigerian Lawmakers Push for NBS Financial Autonomy and Tax Trust Fund

This move aims to strengthen the agency's capacity in generating reliable national data for development planning. The House Committee on National Planning prioritizes transparency, adequate funding, and public confidence in the statistics produced by the NBS.

The initiative received commendation from a Liberian delegation for improving Nigeria's statistical infrastructure.
