Nigerian and Chadian Military Officials Meet to Enhance Cross-Border Security Amidst Border Closure

Nigerian and Chadian military officials held a strategic meeting to boost cross-border security and trade cooperation in the Lake Chad Basin region. The meeting aimed to address foreign military movements, strengthen intelligence sharing, combat cross-border crimes and insurgency, and enhance economic collaboration.

The Nigerian military's efforts in counter-terrorism operations were commended, emphasizing the importance of sustained partnership to restore stability in the region. Major General Abdulsalam Abubakar reaffirmed Nigeria's commitment to the Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF) as the backbone of security efforts in the Lake Chad Basin.
