This appointment has ignited discussions about Nigeria's ongoing brain drain in the healthcare sector, particularly as she is the first indigenous female neurosurgeon in Nigeria.

Reactions on social media reflect concerns over the migration of skilled medical professionals, with Dr. Daniel Popoola emphasizing the crisis in Nigeria’s healthcare system. He likened her situation to a senior consultant starting residency anew, indicating the severity of the healthcare challenges in Nigeria.
