Nigerian Referee Joseph Ogabor to Officiate AFCON Qualifier

Joseph Odey Ogabor, a Nigerian referee, has been appointed to officiate the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifying match between the Democratic Republic of Congo and Equatorial Guinea. This Group E encounter will take place on Thursday at the Stade des Martyrs de la Pentecôte in Kinshasa, with a kick-off time set for 5pm local time.

Ogabor will be joined by compatriots Tejiri Besmart Digbori and Emmanuel Omada, who will serve as Assistant Referees One and Two, respectively. Additionally, Grema Mohamed will act as the fourth official for the match.

Ogabor is known for regularly officiating in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) and has gained valuable continental experience through his involvement in the CAF Champions League and CAF Confederation Cup. Recently, he officiated a CAF Champions League preliminary-round match between Medeama and TP Mazembe.
