Nigerian Singer Portable Denied Bail, Faces Assault Allegations

Nigerian singer Portable, aka Habeeb Okikiola, was arraigned in Ota, Ogun State, on assault, theft, and resisting arrest charges after a video of him pleading for mercy while handcuffed went viral. The incident involved a dispute with actress Ashabi, who accused him of assault during a New Year's celebration.

Portable allegedly pushed, slapped, and even brought an ax during the altercation. He is also accused of stealing a Mercedes Benz worth 12 million naira.

The case has sparked public outrage over police conduct and human rights practices.
