Nigerian Singer Portable Remanded in Custody Over Multiple Charges

Nigerian singer Portable, whose real name is Habeeb Okikiola, was remanded in custody following his arraignment at the Ogun State High Court in Onipanu Ota. He faced nine charges, including theft of a Mercedes Benz, assault, felony, and resisting arrest.

Portable appeared distressed in court, breaking down in tears during the proceedings. The charges stemmed from various incidents, including physical assault on his wife Ashabi, an attack on a police officer, and theft at a bar.

The court denied his bail application, ordering him to remain in custody until January 19, 2026.
