NERC Data: Over 225,000 Electricity Meters Installed in Nigeria in Q2 2025

Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) data reveals that over 225,000 electricity meters were installed by Abuja Electricity Distribution Companies in Q2 2025. Despite this progress, around 5.4 million electricity consumers in Nigeria remain unmetered.

The national metering rate increased from 45% in April to 48% by the end of June. Ikeja Electric and Eko Electricity Distribution Company led in metering penetration.

The installation of meters saw a modest gain, with the total number of metered customers rising to 4 million by June. This data highlights the ongoing efforts to improve metering accuracy and track consumption in the country.
