Wike Confident of Presidential Support from Nigerians

Nyesom Wike, the former governor of River State, asserted during a media chat on Monday that Nigerians still have affection for him and would vote for him in large numbers if he decides to run for the presidency. Wike emphasized his ability to connect easily with ordinary Nigerians and pointed to his achievements while serving as governor of River State.

He expressed confidence in his support base, particularly following the recent council elections in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), where he believes his loyalists will secure victory. Additionally, Wike addressed criticisms regarding security measures implemented in the FCT, which included restrictions on human and vehicular movement from 8 PM on Fridays and 6 PM on Saturdays, stating that these measures were purely for security purposes and had been approved by the presidency.
